I was returning from a conference and my husband and I were waiting at Phoenix Skyharbor for our luggage.
Looking around I noticed that it was the men who went forward and grabbed the luggage and brought it back to the women. The women gathered it and then report to the men what the other pieces of luggage they were to hunt for (color, size). Reminded me of the cave-man/cave-women scenario - men went out and did the hunting, while the women stayed back.
Just interesting how somethings never change...

Best laid plans...
You know what they say about best laid plans - anyway, one of my NY resolutions was to blog more. Actually planned on starting before the NY, but today is the first day I actually have the chance.
In Hawaii visiting son (Joe) and then presenting at the Hawaii International Conference on Education in Honolulu. While I have been taking notes of blog ideas, time as been short. Too much to do!! However, it has been raining here since around 4 pm yesterday and coming down so hard now, can't hear the TV. (Who needs to listen toAccu-Weather - visuals is what you want, plus I am pretty sure it is taped.)
I wanted to follow up on my last post on livestrong and biking. Been using livestrong pretty regularly, even though on vacation. I am a believer that tracking your food keeps you honest - passed on some goodies and many seconds knowing what the numbers are. Plus, I love how I can put in my bike ride, it tells me calories burned, elevation (max ascents, etc) and then my net calories. It also tells me how many more calories I can take in to reach my goal. (Goal is to lose 1 pound/week - another resolution)
We have been biking here. I rented a bike at Coconut Coasters in Kapa'a. I highly recommend it - easy to rent, right on bike path, helpful employees. I wanted to keep it over the NY holiday and it was no problem. The coastal bike path is breath taking. I tried to time our ride, but we ended up stopping to watch the waves hit the shoreline, or the whales - well, you get it. So much to see!! The path is about 4.5 miles, so round trip the 9 miles go fast.
We tried to do the downhill ride in Waimea Canyon yesterday afternoon, but the rain started on our way up. (And it hasnt' let up yet!) That was through Outfitters Kauai (LOVE their website), which also has zipline expeditions, which I am planning for next time.
Hopefully, rain lets up some. In meantime, time to track my breakfast!
